Heathrow is the busiest two-runway airport in the world, and it is also the place where a chauffeur service most visibly earns — or loses — its fee. The difference between a calm collection and a car park search comes down to terminal knowledge, timing and a plan that was written before you landed. Here is how we run it.
The arrivals routine, terminal by terminal
Heathrow's four passenger terminals share an arrivals pattern but differ in layout. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, not the schedule, and positions accordingly:
- Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 share a central arrivals area. The meet point is the arrivals concourse by the exit escalators — the chauffeur waits there with your name board once you clear customs.
- Terminal 4 arrivals open onto a single hall; the walk from gates is longer, and we factor that into the chauffeur's positioning time.
- Terminal 5 splits arrivals across A, B and C gates. International arrivals almost always come through the main (A) building, but your chauffeur confirms the gate from the flight track before parking.
Why 60 minutes of waiting is the industry's quiet marker
Immigration at Heathrow can take ten minutes or over an hour — on identical flights. A professional collection starts the clock at touchdown, not at gates-open, and it never argues about it. Our 60-minute complimentary window exists precisely so that the variable you cannot control (the queue) never becomes the charge you did not expect.
Departures: when to leave for the airport
The honest answer depends on terminal and hour. As a rule of thumb from central London: three hours before a long-haul departure, two for European flights, plus a 20-minute buffer if your booking falls in the 7–10 a.m. or 4–7 p.m. windows. Your chauffeur plans the route the evening before and will say so if an earlier departure is the professional call.
One booking, one accountable person
Every Halcolux airport transfer is managed by dispatch — flight tracked, chauffeur briefed, terminal confirmed. If your flight diverts, lands early or loses luggage, one message adjusts the plan. That single point of accountability is the real product; the S-Class is just the packaging.
